Traceability Editor Page

• The Traceability Editor Page serves two purposes:

1. Configure the settings to generate desired traceability

2. Alter the existing settings to update the existing traceability

• For the configuration role, the editor page is used to select the desired type of traceability (Horizontal or Intersection) and then configure the desired settings to generate these.

• The Editor page's UI of each method is described here, while the actual process is elaborated on relevant pages.

Intersection Matrix - Work Item Type

1	Traceability Matrix	This tab is used to view the generated traceability matrix
2	Editor	This tab is used to elaborate the traceability by setting relevant queries
3	Editor toolbar	Contains options to save, refresh and run the traceability
4	Type of matrix drop down	Used to select the desired type to create the traceability (i.e. Intersection Matrix or Horizontal Matrix)
5	Work item type and Query Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability if Intersection matrix is selected as a type of matrix
6	Iteration Path Operator	Used to select the relevant Iteration Path operator
7	Iteration Path Value	Used to select the relevant Iteration Path value
8	Area Path Operator	Used to select the Area Path operator
9	Area Path Value	Used to select the Area Path value
10	Link Type	Used to select the desired link type between row Work Item and column Work Item
11	Row Work Item Type	Used to select the type of Work Item for the row query
12	Column Work Item Type	Used to select the type of Work Item for the column query

Intersection Matrix - Saved-Query Name

1	Query Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability (Query type currently selected)
2	Link Type	Used to select the desired link type between row Work Item and column Work Item
3	Row Query	Used to select the row query for the traceability
4	Column Query	Used to select the column query for the traceability

Horizontal Matrix - Work Item Type

1	Type of matrix drop down	Used to select Horizontal Matrix as the type of matrix that the user wants to create
2	Work item type Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability (Work Item Type currently selected)
3	Iteration Path Operator	Used to select the relevant Iteration Path operator
4	Iteration Path Value	Used to set Iteration Path value
5	Area Path Operator	Used to select the Area Path operator
6	Area Path Value	Used to set Area Path value
7	Filter for top level work item	Used to select the first Work Item whose traceability is to be checked
8	Add Button	Used to insert additional filters for the matrix query
9	Remove Button	Used to remove corresponding filters from the matrix query
10	Additional filters*	Used to select the Work Items of additional filters

* Users can set up to 9 additional filters

Horizontal Matrix - Query Type

1	Query Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability (Query currently selected)
2	Select Query	Used to select the desired query that serves as the basis (1st column) of the Horizontal Traceability Matrix
3	Filter for top level work item	Used to select the first Work Item whose traceability is to be checked
4	Additional Filter's info	Used to provide details for the additional filters such as link type and Work Item type

Horizontal Matrix - Multi Query Type

1	Multi Query Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability (Multi Query currently selected)
2	Select Query	Used to select the desired query that serves as the basis (1st column) of the Horizontal Traceability Matrix
3	Additional linked query's info	Used to provide details for the additional queries

Horizontal Matrix - Test Reporting

1	Test Reporting Radio Button	Used to select the desired method to create the traceability (Test Reporting currently selected)
2	Test Plan	Used to select the relevant test plan present in team
3	Test Suit	Used to set test suit(s) accordingly
4	Include work items in report	Used to set the work items on which traceability is to be checked
5	Checkboxes	Used to check/uncheck the work items for traceability matrix

Edit a file directly in to the Editor tab without opening the file

Users have an option to edit any file without opening it directly. Some files have large data, so it test time to load. Right click on the desired traceability or click on context menu ‘…’ against desired traceability file and select "Edit" option to open the file in Editor Tab.

The file is now open in the editor tab.
